The Conference Dinner will be held in one of Brisbane’s finest function venues. Peter Fitzsimons AM – Special Guest Presenter, Radio Personality
The special guest speaker Peter FitzSimons! Peter is a well-respected columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald and Sun-Herald, and television presenter on Fox Sports. Peter is a former national representative rugby union player and is one of Australia’s bestselling authors with over 30 published non-fiction works. Peter boasts an impressive list of interview credits including ex-president George Bush, Sir Edmund Hillary, Jodie Foster, Nicki Lauda, Joe Montana and Carl Lewis as well as all the major Australian sporting figures from Shane Gould to Lionel Rose and Allan Border. He has interviewed every Australian Prime Minister from Gough Whitlam through to Julia Gillard.
In 2011 Peter became an officer of the Order of Australia (AM) for his services to literature, sports journalism, charity and conservation. He is on the Council of the Australian War Memorial, a director of the ANZAC Centenary Advisory Board, and a Fellow of the Senate of Sydney University and the founder of the Cauliflower Club, devoted to raising money from the rugby community for spinal research. The most popular after-dinner speaker in Australia, he is married to Today Show co-host Lisa Wilkinson.
